Indoor Track Season Recap

Metro State Update:
Metro State had five runners compete at the NCAA Championships. The distance medley relay team of Nate Newland, Anthony Luna, Carl Arnold III and Rick Bogatay took third place in 9:55.67, breaking the school record. Bogatay overcame two opponents on the final lap for the third place finish. Each member of the team earned All-America honors.

Seven Named Academic All-RMAC

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Metro State track teams had seven athletes named to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference/Boulder Running Company All-Academic teams on Wednesday. The women's team had four and the men had three.

Metro State Congratulates 32 Graduates

DENVER, Colo. - Metro State’s athletic department announced the graduation of 30 current and former student-athletes and the graduation of one assistant coach on Tuesday. Nine of the 30 finished their degrees during the 2009 fall semester, while the remaining 22 graduated during this past Sunday’s ceremony on the Metro State campus.

Arnold Qualifies for NCAA Championships

GOLDEN, Colo. - Metro State sent four runners to the Colorado Mines Last Chance Meet on Sunday in Golden, Colo., and Carl Arnold III stole the show, running the nation's fourth-fastest time this season in NCAA Division II.

Six Named All-RMAC

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Metro State's track teams had six runners earn All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference honors in seven different events, announced following the conclusion of the RMAC Championships in Pueblo on Tuesday. The men's team earned All-RMAC in six events and the women's team had one All-RMAC representative.

Luna Captures 800m Championship in Final Day of Conference Meet

DENVER, Colo. - Metro State's Anthony Luna captured the 800 meter championship on Tuesday in the final day of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships in Pueblo, Colo. Luna edged Mark Husted from Colorado Mines in an exciting finish.

Five Score for Metro State on Day One

PUEBLO, Colo. - Metro State had three men and two women score points on Monday in the team's first day of competition at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference track championships in Pueblo, Colo. In addition, Derek Fiorini qualified for the men's 100 meter and 200 meter finals scheduled for Tuesday. It was a tough day for all runner due to windy conditions, limiting national qualifying times in the distance events.
