DENVER, Colo. - Metro State’s athletic department announced the graduation of 30 current and former student-athletes and the graduation of one assistant coach on Tuesday. Nine of the 30 finished their degrees during the 2009 fall semester, while the remaining 22 graduated during this past Sunday’s ceremony on the Metro State campus.

DENVER, Colo. - Metro State men’s soccer coach Ken Parsons announced the addition of nine players for the 2010 season on Thursday. Five freshmen, a sophomore and three transfers will make up the recruiting class. Freshmen Walter Bertini (Boulder, Colo.), Ryan Duran (Chandler, Ariz.), Carlos Mendez (Denver, Colo.), Diego Lashlee (Denver, Colo.) and David Toler (Albuquerque, N.M.) and sophomore Cam Wood (Morrison, Colo.) join NCAA Division I transfers Morgan Maestas (Denver, Colo./San Diego State University), Andrew Mejia (Littleton, Colo./University of San Diego) and Stephen Zipprich (Denver, Colo./Santa Clara University).

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Metro State men's soccer players Pat Laughlin was named National Soccer Coaches Association of America second team Scholar All-America.  He is the third player in school history to earn the award.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Metro State men's soccer players Pat Laughlin and Tyler Wilson were both honored on Friday by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for the success in the classroom.  Laughlin was named first team Scholar All-West Region and Wilson was named to the second team.

Roadrunners Update:
Metro State’s season came to an end in the RMAC Tournament championship as the Roadrunners fell to eventual national champion Fort Lewis, 3-1, on Nov. 8. Metro State advanced to the championship game after advancing past No. 11 Colorado Mines 5-4 on penalty kicks after tying 1-1 after two overtimes. Scott Grode scored Metro State’s only goal and Dominique Griffith stopped two shots.

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Metro State is currently ranked fourth nationally following the fall season in the NCAA Division II Learfield Sports Director's Cup standings released on Thursday.  The Roadrunners are tied with Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference foe Colorado Mines with 208.00 points.  Grand Valley State is ranked first with 290.00 points, followed by West Texas A&M and Massachusetts-Lowell.  Some schools will have the opportunity to win additional points as the football season has not been completed.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Metro State men's soccer players Steven Emory and Pat Laughlin were both named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Central Region first team on Tuesday.  Both were also named Daktronics first team all-region earlier this fall and Emory was on Daktronics' All-America second team as well.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Metro State men's soccer player Steven Emory was named Daktronics second team All-America on Tuesday.  It is the first time in his career he has earned All-America honors and he is just the second player in school history to earn Daktronics All-America honors after Kellen Johnson was an honorable mention choice last season.
